L41IS-98PG573_LagacCDespite the various programs and grants offered to reduce the risk of the commercialization of Canadian innovations, it remains that a company ready to begin its sales approach is regularly confronted with a lack of liquidity to the early stages marketing. It is at this crucial moment that the Centre of Excellence in Energy Efficiency (C3E) intervenes.

In 2015, the C3E confirmed its orientation towards one of the most promising sectors in Canada: the energy efficiency in transport, sector where are the interests of greenhouse gas reduction plus significant energy savings. An interesting turn since the C3E received a fund of $ 4M from Quebec’s Bureau d’efficacité et d’innovations énergétiques (BEIE) to develop the sector of transportation electrification.

Let’s mention that since its creation, the C3E has to its credit 14 investments in Canadian companies operating in strategic sectors of energy efficiency. These have created 114 jobs over the years while taking, for some, an important place in a growing market. For its part, the C3E has acquired a solid expertise in commercialization and has developed an enviable network of partners with the common objective of supporting international development of those companies.

As Chairman of the Board of Directors, I personally want to thank all those who contributed to the success of this organization. I also thank the team of BEIE for the confidence shown towards the C3E and I’m already reassured that our experienced and professional team will fulfill the Fonds Vert’s requirements.

The C3E is a unique financial tool in Canada. It controls its risks, it has extensive expertise and is positioned in the heart of an enviable network in a promising sector and opportunities. Therefore it is definitely focused on innovation to contribute to the creation of economic and environmental wealth in Quebec and Canada.
