For the second time in three years, Terragon, Environmental Technologies<\/a>\u00a0wins the “Innovation” award at the Lloyd’s List North American Awards which were held in New York on May 19th 2016. C3E congratulates Terragon’s team working on the project WETT.<\/p>\n

The Innovation Award recognises an innovative project or technology which has demonstrated or has verified potential to move shipping forward.\u00a0This year, it’s\u00a0Terragon\u2019s Wastewater Electrochemical Treatment Technology (WETT-O) that charmed the jury.<\/p>\n

WETT <\/a>is an extremely compact and effective wastewater treatment system designed specifically for relatively small habitats and enterprises. It addresses the needs of this niche market by allowing the practical recovery of utility or irrigation water from wastewater (such as greywater) generated by the habitat. WETT is different, more robust and more effective than most commonly available technologies used for this purpose in small habitats. Unlike many approaches, WETT can be configured to treat all types of wastewater, including water from toilets (black water), from sinks, showers and laundry (gray water), and water contaminated with oils, solvents, heavy metals and other pollutants.<\/p>\n

Recall that in 2014, the MAGS, supported by C3E, who had won the honors of the Lloyd’s List Awards!<\/p>\n

MAGS<\/a> is the world’s first energy generation appliance fueled by waste. The treatment reactor is about the same size as a 55 gallon drum. The operator simply loads the drum with waste, with no pre-treatment of any kind, shuts the cover and presses the start button. Within the drum the waste is heated and breaks down to carbonaceous char (bio-char) and a gas consisting mostly of hydrogen and carbon monoxide (synthesis gas). In Terragon’s proprietary\u00a0Auto Gasification\u00a0process, the synthesis gas is used as the fuel for the process. Thus, the waste is converted to inert carbon products by “cooking it” and using the vapours generated from the “cooking” as the fuel for the process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
